The Potato Festival Bake-Off will be held at Buchert Park (on High Street, west of Rt. 44 in Mantua) on Saturday, September 12, 2009. Entries will be accepted at the VFW Lodge from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Judging will begin at 4:30 pm, with results and the auction at 6:00 pm on Stage 2 on the festival grounds. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Crestwood Community Cupboard. For health and safety reasons the following rules must be followed:
- All entries must be made with real potatos (no mixes or instant flakes).
- All entries must be in or on a disposable container and covered.
- Soups may be brought in a thermos with name and phone number marked on it. They may be retrieved following the judging as they will not be auctioned off.
- Inform committee member at lodge if entry is to be kept cold or hot.
- Only one entry in each category per person.
- A typed or clearly printed recipe must be taped or stapled to the entry blank.
- Previous winning recipes cannot be resubmitted under another name.
- One entry per entry form (this form may be copied).
